UK Official Charts: Biggest hits since 2024

The year 2024 witnessed (so far) extraordinary musical hits that dominated the charts and captivated the hearts of listeners. From moving ballads to energetic pop songs and surprising returns from classics, these songs defined the musical landscape of the year. The biggest song of 2024 so far is “Stick Season “by Noah KahanAccording to official charts. It dominated the official singles chart for seven consecutive weeks at the beginning of the year and remains the longest-lasting single since number 1 this year.

The first UK hit by Vermont singer and composer Noah, taken from his third studio album of the same name, the title of the song refers to a transition period in Vermont between autumn and winter.

According to official charter company data, “Stick Season” has accumulated 1.37 million graphical units, including 160 million audio and video streams combined in 2024.

Originally launched in 2022, the total play currently stands at 1.9 million graphical units and 218 million streams in the UK.

Second place, we have the soulful song“Lost Control” by Teddy Swims, which is also the most downloaded digital single of 2024 so far (51,300 downloads).

A single that quickly reached number one because of its profound lyrics and the impressive vocal interpretation of Benson Boone, “Beautiful Things,” ranks third.

A new entry that will probably be on the list during the year is Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” (4th place), which spent five weeks first before being deposed by Sabrina’s next hit, “Please Please.” The play has already gathered 763,000 combined graphical units, including 85.7 million streams since its launch in April.

In the final five, we have Hozier’s first single to reach number one in the UK, “Too Sweet,” which dominated the Official Singles Chart for two weeks.

One of the dominant themes of 2024 so far has been the deserved rebirth of country music in the UK, and as such we have many country songs in the top of the biggest hits of 2024 so far. Beyoncé’s top song “TEXAS HOLD’EM” leads the group in the top 10 (6th place), while the debut hits “Austin” by Dasha (13th place) and “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey (14th place) find their place in the top 20.

Below, there are other country music-powered appearances from Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves with “I Remember Everything” (28th) and Post Malone & Morgan Wallen with “I Had Some Help” (36th).

Ariana Grande has two entries in the top 40 with two of the biggest hits on “eternal sunshine”; “yes, and?” (16th place) and “we can’t be friends (wait for your love)” (19th place).

Two songs from Dua Lipa’s third album, “Radical Optimism,” are also present; “Houdini” (22nd place) and “Training Season” (31st place), both being top 10 hits on Official Singles Chart.

Other releases from 2024 that are part of the list of the year to date include; “i like the way you kiss me” by Artemas (15th place), “tonight” by Taylor Swift ft ft. Post Malone (17th place), “Scaced To Start” by Michael Marcagi (18th place) and “Alibi” by Ella Henderson & Rudimental (21st place).

Ending the top 40, we have “Million Dollar Baby” by Tommy Richman (30th place), “Belong Together” by Mark Ambor (32nd place) and “Whatever” by Kygo and Ava Max (37th place), which shambles Shakira’s 2001 classic, “Whenever, Wherever.”.
