Mescal, 28, appears in the first images wearing a leather kilt and a breastplate, remembering Maximus, the character played by Russell Crowe.

Pedro Pascal as General Roman Acacius

Pedro Pascal, 49, plays the role of Roman General Acacius, who trained as a gladiator under Maximus. Pascal describes his character as very different from Maximus, capable of unique things. Denzel Washington as Macrinus
