Best films on Streaming Platforms in July 2024

Summer film season continues in cinemas this month with titles such as “Despicable Me 4” and “Deadpool and Wolverine.”.

However, on streaming platforms, some large-scale productions and indie films appreciated from the first part of 2024 make their debut.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (July 4)

Warner Bros. release “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” on Max after a resounding success at the box office, becoming the most profitable film in the MonsterVerse universe of the studio, with receipts of $570 million worldwide.

The film joins other recent Warner Bros blockbusters. from Max’s library, such as “Dune: Part Two,” “Wonka” and “Barbie.”.

Beverly Hills Cop: Alex F (July 3rd)

Perhaps the most important streaming release in July is “Beverly Hills Cop: Alex F” on Netflix, the fourth part of Eddie Murphy’s comedy franchise.

Murphy, who was a success on Amazon Prime Video with Coming to America 2 in 2021, now returns to the emblematic role of Detective Alex Foley.

The film is directed by Mark Molloy and brings Murphy to the screen with the veterans of the Judge Reinhold and John Ashton franchise, but also with newcomers such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kevin Bacon.

Love Lies Bleeding (July 19)

Max’s library also receives the queer thriller “Love Lies Bleeding” from A24, directed by Rose Glass and starring Kristen Stewart.

The film received $8 million in boxing from an exciting premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (July 25th)

In “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” directed by Guy Ritchie, Winston Churchill authorized an illegal mission to undermine Hitler’s German U- boot fleet during World War II.

Henry Cavill plays the lead role, and the cast includes actors such as Eiza González, Alan Ritchson and Henry Golding.
